Sara will explain the basics of early literacy acquisition and the implications for early literacy instruction and for remediation at any age. Her talk will focus on the earliest stages of reading development when learners are taught how to decode print or "lift the words off the page".

 

Sara Peden

Sara Peden is a registered psychologist who was employed by an Alberta metro school board for many years. She is now a consultant providing a range of services including providing professional learning opportunities for teachers and school administrations. Her practice is highly specialized in the field of literacy acquisition and dyslexia.
